TRAC is about more than just coaching students to become better writers. It teaches them to be independent learners and gives them a greater appreciation for effective communication, instilling confidence and strengthening interpersonal skills. Both these qualities will be useful for the rest of their lives, which is why the work we do as fellows is so important. By providing a supportive environment, I encourage students to evaluate their strengths and weaknesses, and then continuously improve on them. By demonstrating the power of peer collaboration, I motivate them to ask for help and work with others in the future. My time in the TRAC program has taught me valuable lessons as well, namely to cherish the process over the product because there are so many learning opportunities along the way.
